Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Strategy 2025-2026

At St Margaret’s CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil receives the highest quality education, enabling them to reach their full academic and personal potential. This commitment is rooted in our school vision and core values of responsibility, resilience, thoughtfulness, tolerance, confidence, and caring, which underpin our aim for all children to become lifelong learners.

We recognise that disadvantaged pupils may face a range of barriers to learning, including attendance gaps, lower self-regulation skills, dips in progress, mental health and wellbeing needs, and challenges with parental engagement. Each child entitled to Pupil Premium funding is unique, and our response must be tailored to their individual needs.

Our overarching objective is to close and prevent the attainment gap between pupils eligible for Pupil Premium and their peers. To achieve this, we will:

  • Give Pupil Premium pupils a high profile across the school.
  • Ensure all staff are accountable for their progress and outcomes.
  • Maintain a Pupil Premium Lead Governor (Lucy Monti) and a Pupil Premium Lead Teacher (Rachel Kershaw) who advocate for these pupils, ensure pupil voice, and work closely with families to overcome barriers.

We track and analyse progress rigorously using a wide range of data and research, including guidance from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and insights from the Durrington Research School’s Mitigation to Success Programme.

Our strategy and funding priorities for 2024 - 2025 are detailed in the report below.
