Topic
Our topic for this Autumn term will be all about the 'The World Above Us'. We will be investigating the planets in our solar system, the moon and other satellites, and the space race. Please keep an eye out for the moon and complete the moon diary that was taken home (ask Mr Unsworth if you need another one). This is a great gateway into stargazing and understanding the sky at night!
PE
PE will be on Tuesday and Friday afternoon with with me (Mr Unsworth). Please ensure that you come into school on these days wearing school PE kit: shorts or tracksuit bottoms (depending on the weather), trainers, school jumper or fleece.
Homework
Children are expected to participate in daily reading and maths practice as outlined below:
Maths - Children should participate in daily practice of number fluency. This can be done via Times table rockstars.
Reading - The children are expected to engage with daily reading at home, books from school can be taken home for reading pleasure and these should be recorded in reading journals. Reading for pleasure is important so make sure you read a variety of texts, it does not have to be a narrative story. If you are struggling with book choices please use this resource for some recommended reads (click the link)
