Curriculum Statement of Intent

The curriculum at St Margaret’s CE Primary School is designed to provide a broad and balanced education that nourishes the needs of all children. It provides opportunities for children to develop as independent, confident and successful learners, with high aspirations, who know how to make a positive contribution to their community and the wider society. As a Church of England school, we are in keeping with the Church of England’s Vision for Education and fully believe that children should experience “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10).

Our curriculum centres around 4 themes – academic, cultural, creative and healthy minds and healthy bodies. We believe that a rounded education built on these foundations are the key elements which support the development of the whole child and promote a positive attitude to learning.

The curriculum celebrates the diversity of our community and world, and utilises the skills, knowledge and cultural wealth of the community while supporting the children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, ensuring that children are well prepared for life in modern Britain.
