Wow, what amazing weather we had for our outdoor day this week! We spent half the day on the beach - pebble painting, rock pooling and doing a beach clean then in the school grounds we whittled sticks, toasted marshmallows over the campfire as well as gardening in our beautiful sensory garden. It was a jam packed day filled with great enrichment for all the children!
As part of national science week the PTA very kindly donated funds for us to enjoy Sublime Science (as featured on Dragon’s Den). Each class participated in some science workshops where they learnt about forces, chemical reactions and energy transfer.
The day culminated with the whole school observing some ‘whacky rockets’ that demonstrated air pressure and resulted in plastic bottles shooting high into the sky.
Huge well done to the children in Year 4 who took part in this year's Let's Dance! Miss Smith said "It was amazing, the children smashed it! "
We had a fantastic day for World Book Day 2025! The school was alive with imaginative and original costumes, and we thoroughly enjoyed discovering various stories and books throughout the day. Our school was even featured in the Argus newspaper, we hope you spotted us!
Year 6 had a fantastic Shackleton Day where we got to pull a boat around 800 metres.
Thanks to Mr Thomas for putting the wheels on it so we could do this!
We also got to do some physical training that the crew would have done and we made some biscuits for our travels. The biscuits did taste more like bread though!
We made a shelter like Shackleton and his crew would have done after the Endurance sunk, but it didn’t really resemble a shelter! We all enjoyed a great day!

Year 3 spent all day immersed in celebrating Chinese New Year and experiencing traditional activities. We made our own spring rolls, created a dragon dance and gifted the Hedgehogs class red envelopes. We also brought in the new year with some sparklers. It was a brilliant and enriching day - thank you to the Y3 team for all their efforts!
Wednesday 5th February was National Story Telling Day. To mark the event, each class held different activities throughout the day to celebrate stories.
In Otters class (pictured above) the children were given prop boxes that they used to inspire their story writing. There was then an opportunity to share these stories with the class.
Foxes enjoyed creating their own story worlds inspired by Joseph Coelho's book 'our tower'. We had lots of enchanted fairy forests, candy lands, and even some futuristic computer game inspired worlds!
We also enjoyed a Welsh Traditional Tale read to the classes by Rosie Crane (thank you!).
The children really enjoyed listening to the stories that were shared.
Thank you also for all your support with our book fair - an incredible amount raised, which then means the school gets credits to spend on books. Enjoy your new books children!
When we arrived, we went into a big observatory dome and listened to our guide explain all the interesting facts about space and the history of the huge telescope that we looked at. We learnt that they were made in the 1800s and they were transported there from Greenwich.
After lunch, a lady named Kit led us into a room full of yellow robot hands that represented the massive claws on the ISS. It was really fun! Did you know it takes an astronaut about 3 year to learn how to use one?! A great day had by all. Report written by Alice and Victoria.
A fabulous day today celebrating all things NUMBER!
We were delighted with the parental engagement last week and how many of you came and had fun with maths - thank you so much as ever for your support!
I have seen so much enthusiasm across the school all week whilst children were undertaking investigations, playing games, trying to solve tricky problems etc - what a wonderful buzz showing children just how enjoyable maths can be - well done all!
